In case you were wondering - THIS is why.
If you glanced at that and then closed the window just because you don't like animals, SHAME ON YOU. That site might be one of the funniest things ever, and everyone can appreciate a little humor.
How did I find it? Slate. link is over there--->
In fact, this is so funny I added it as a feed. If you want more, just google "lolcats" or look up lolcats on wikipedia and check out the links. I'm not in the mood to do the work for you today.
In other news, Booger (is the name. couldn't change it.. too funny) is finally getting back to herself after having a really rough cold virus this weekend in addition to the vet visit monday. now has a collar, tag, and bell (so we can find her b/c she is SO little). I'll probably be starting a flickr album for her, since i'm getting a new camera and she is so cute it is absurd.
Margaret Spellings (Secretary of Education, FYI) was on TDS tonight. LOVE. I had no idea that a conservative could be so hilarious! As Jon so adamantly pointed out, she is the only member of the current Executive Branch who doesn't seem to be allergic to him. major points, in fact, just for showing up. On that note, I was in Barnes and Noble today, and like a reflex I headed straight to the current affairs section to check out some potential summer reading. I discovered (strangely..I almost feel daft for not noticing this before) 99% of the stuff in that section is crap. Pure, unbridled propoganda. In this town, it happens to be all conservative (think Ann Coulter and "the truth about Hillary") as I could find nothing liberal other than rachel carson and jared diamond, and they are considered things other than current affairs, no? Anyway, don't waste your time. You're more likely to learn more or gain more from some piece of bogus literature you find in the self-help or new age sections. Lesson of the day: use amazon.com and give Spellings another chance.
My daily shameless plug: If you are at all interested in liberal/democratic campaign finance, or if you are interested in raising money for your favorite democratic prez candidates, or if you are at all interested in your fav democratic 08 candidates' financial sitch, check out this organization. Very much my new pet organization, because they allow regular folks to contribute to the fundraising efforts of the candidates they support, and to do so in ways that don't deduct for the service of the organization. Check them out!!
Finally, to round out a thoroughly political post in a most inappropriate and amusing manner - the best episode of SNL's TV Funhouse ever:
