following the lead of almost every other blogger I read (and because I have nothing better to do) -
100 Things About Me:
1. Everything I do has to feel, at least in my head, like it was my idea.
2. I have never experienced trying something new and being bad at it. More often than not, I quit before I get really good at it because I get bored, or because too many other people are doing it too.
3. I am allergic to strange things. Like kiwi. And Lobster (but not crab or shrimp.)
4. I used to be a hypochondriac, and every time I got a bump or pain I would look up all the potential diseases it could be.
5. I am very, very, very stubborn.
6. My great-great grandmother was Cherokee.
7. I find it easier to tell my deepest secrets to strangers than to my family and friends.
8. I get motion sickness on boats of any size. and on busses. and sometimes in cars. but never on airplanes.
9. My first reaction to a spider is to be afraid, but then I want to get down and look at it and see what kind it is. Which leads me to wonder if my 'fear' of spiders is just a conditioned reaction, and that maybe I'm not afraid of them afterall.
10. I am not a risk-taker. But I wish I was.
11. I really don't like movies.
12. I love music.
13. I'm partially deaf in my right ear.
14. If I'm sitting in a messy room and you are talking to me, I'm not listening to you. I'm thinking about where all the stuff in the floor should be, and I'm imagining all the clothes going into the closet or the trash into the trashcan (like on mary poppins). And I can't help it.
15. I love fried okra.
16. When I was in first grade I went through a phase of being obsessed with tape. I wanted to tape everything, because it held things together and you couldn't tell it was there. so cool!
17. I've been addicted to coffee since I was 4, because mixing a little coffee into my milk was the only way my mom could get me to eat my breakfast. She called it my special coffee-milk :)
18. I don't know the sound of my own voice, and I'm usually startled when I hear it because my accent is constantly changing.
19. I'm only the second person in my family (from my dad's side) to graduate from college.
20. I don't walk around with a smile on my face because it makes my face hurt and I feel silly. But that doesn't mean I'm not happy.
21. I don't know how to say hello to people without having a good reason. I'm a bad southerner that way.
22. When I check out a new artist on myspace or itunes, I always listen to the third song on the list first.
23. I don't pick up coins unless they are tails-side up. even if it was mine to begin with and I dropped it.
24. I solidify my personal opinion of a person by the way I feel when I hear them laugh. If I want to laugh too, or if it warms me then I try to spend more time with them. Some people's laughs make me nauseous, so I avoid them at all costs.
25. The worst thing you can ever do is patronize me.
26. Hugs are my favorite.
27. It takes a long time to earn my trust; not because you don't deserve it, but because I'm very cautious about giving it.

29. I think potatoes should be their own food group.

40. When I think about politics or problems with society, I think about them from a perspective of trying to find a solution. People who talk about politics or problems with society just to fuss and complain lose my respect.

43. I appreciate eloquence.
44. I also think words are overrated, and sometimes silence says more than words ever could.
45. I hate talking on the phone... well, rather I hate calling people on the phone. It just makes me anxious. So much so that sometimes I won't even call for pizza because of it. So don't take it personally if I don't call you.
46. There are only about 4 pictures of me between the ages of 12 and 16.
47. I was a huge theater nerd in High School, and I still love a good play and dream of playing Ophelia in a production of Hamlet.

56. Very few people know my favorite color. or my hair color. or my eye color. or all those little trivial but basic pieces of information.

58. People who don't have a hard time lying to their friends make me feel sick.
59. I believe in God. In a very traditional sense.
60. I was not meant to carry a purse. I lost my first purse in Belk's when I was 3. Last weekend I left my purse in Ann Taylor. At least this more recent occasion I got it back.
61. I come from a family and community that are very prejudiced - racist, sexist.. you name it. And I've always felt uncomfortable with the fact that someone can be so afraid of another person for such silly reasons.

72. I like to be different.
73. I like to feel as though I'm just like everyone else.
74. I've always loved the brown crayon/marker/paint. Everyone else said "brown is yucky" but I never thought so.

86. I love board games and card games. I would rather play a game than watch a movie or go out. I got my first UNO game when I was 2. It was sesame street, and I was damn good at it. My parents didn't even have to "let" me win, cause I beat them regardless.
87. Though I'm not proud of it, I like name brands.
88. I also operate on the "quality not quantity" policy. If I have a pair of Oakleys, and they fit, and they look good, then I only need one pair of Oakleys. They just have to be real Oakleys.
89. I love food.
90. I stopped eating beef because it was easier and cheaper than selling my car. (I'm trying to be greener, and in effect healthier.)
