tell me you would take me anywhere

today was amazing. flat out, hands down, i might as well have won the lottery.
The democrats stood up to the republicans about global warming in the senate. Congress subpoenaed Rove and Harriett Myers for the firings of those justices, even though Bush "warned" them not to. Seeing Barbara Boxer stand up to that ignorant man from Oklahoma made me terribly proud. IN UR HOUSE, MAKIN UR RULZ.

And I love love love love Al Gore.

in other exciting news, Bill Gates was apparently in Mexico today advocating amnesty for illegal mexican immigrants in the US, and encouraging Mexican workers to cross the US border for jobs. Maybe now my dad will buy me that Mac I've been wanting...

yes, still honeymooning tegan and sara. like good wine, they just keep getting better the more i hear/see/learn.

tonight was smoke-free night at trotters, with a free band and dollar drinks. it was amazing. amazing to go into a bar, with my friends, and be able to breathe. amazing to come home and not have to strip immediately and throw my clothes out of the room. and it will be amazing to wake up tomorrow and not have bloodshot eyes and chest congestion from the smoke.
the drinks weren't great, but suffice to say the conversation was fantastic.

i am still flushed.
and i haven't smiled like this in ages.
